Plato asserted that in all things there is one truth, that is the light of the One itself, the light of Deity, which is poured into all minds and forms, presenting the forms to the minds and joining the minds to the forms. Whoever wishes to profess the study of Plato should therefore honour the one truth, which is the single ray of the one Deity. This ray passes through angels, souls, the heavens and other bodies ... its splendour shines in every individual thing according to its nature and is called grace and beauty; and where it shines more clearly, it especially attracts the man who is watching, stimulates him who thinks, and catches and possesses him who draws near to it. This ray compels him to revere its splendour more than all else, as if it were a divine spirit, and, once his former nature has been cast aside, to strive for nothing else but to become this splendour.

I don't want to go to work! I hate work, I only work like 12 hours a week I feel like it's not even worth going. They pay me well but the employees are so annoying and the customers are all stuck up and I'm just sick of the grocery business. I was talking with a friend the other day and realized that for kids in high school there really isn't much more than movie theaters, grocery stores, and bus boys at restaurants. I'm sick of working and having no friends! I want a life!

I am wondering how our minds really work and why we can't seem to find ways to entertain ourselves without technological help.

Our school blocked myspace and I've noticed I've had a harder time finder things to do in that which I have spare. I can't remember anything I do at home that doesn't involve myspace... They also blocked out yahoo email and hotmail so I can't email friends or anything.

Why can't I seem to find anything else to do with myself?

What is Nirvana [Aug. 26th, 2005|07:47 pm]

What is Nirvana?

Nirvana an enlightenment of the consciousness; let me elaborate on that: our bodies are animal and have their corresponding passions and instincts, this body and its impulses I will call the lower animal self. What distinguishes us from animals is our self-consciousness, our memory and our ability to think abstractly and reflect. This light of consciousness is within every member of our race. Now this consciousness for the average man is stuck in its mind, body, and sense consciousness. The body and mind have their likes and dislikes, attractions and aversions, and these all bring duality and lack of peace, because if we don't get what we 'desire' we lack peace. Unfortunately most of the time we don't get what we desire, the Buddha taught that the cause of suffering is 'wanting' something we don't have, and having something we don't 'want'.Read more...Collapse )

The Great Sacrifice [Aug. 26th, 2005|07:08 pm]

I think Jesus was the very embodiment of "The Great Sacrifice." The sun, existing purely out of pure altruism and self-sacrifice, giving life, light, warmth to all forms of life and asking for nothing in return; tell me, would you sacrifice yourself for someone you didn't love or have true compassion for? The sun is the very embodiment of universal compassion and love, it is the elder brother of our solar system, taking care of all of us. Jesus was one with our Central Spiritual Sun, his life reflected perfectly its Wisdom. Now this perfected being's main teaching was universal love, so do you honestly think that he would limit this to "Christians" only? Their was no such thing as "Christians" or "Christianity" when he was alive, he came to our earth willingly out of pure compassion to teach the Law of Laws and his life was universal in spirit and non-sectarian in attitude, not identified with time and place, and truly devoted to the universal goodness of all of humanity. He gave us only his teachings, and later people gathered and created Christianity.Read more...Collapse )

An Only Partially Veiled Tale (Part 64) [Aug. 25th, 2005|12:08 am]

the Mediterrean days of summer passed. the teacher called
her less and less. when she called him, there was no
felt connection. once when she called, he had picked up
the phone and put it back down without saying anything.
she was aware that he had known it was her calling.

never was there a message waiting for her from the
teacher when she had been at the motorcycle shop
working, drinking, hanging-out with the boys... which
had become more and more frequent.

occasionally, she would walk from her home to a beat up
neighborhood bar and drink beer alone, feeling alone
among the regular down and out customers. the bartender,
a young girl named Hanna, however, always welcomed her
with a kind smile. she was dating a man claiming to be
a brain surgeon, though he spent so much time at the bar
she wondered. he and Hanna would cheerfully discuss their
sex life as she sat listening. Hanna was into yoga.Read more...Collapse )

If you are at least 21 and live in the seattle area,
This is why you must come out on Wednesday the 10th of November to the Central Saloon in pioneer square to see Omni play at about 9:30 P.M. Ive promoted Omni before and I whole heartedly do it again, I am a huge fan of what these guys create and how they play their asses off. It's 5 dollars at the door and will be a great show to see live.

Check out their webpage if you want more info
